The Role The post holder works as part of a team and provides care to the population throughout Lanarkshire. The post holder will provide a full range of therapist and hygienist services, as outlined in the GDC scope of practice, to a range of patients, both children and adult, and including additional needs, medically complex, anxious/phobic, priority groups such as prisoners and homeless, safety-net service, in-patients. The patients will be referred to the PDS from many sources, and the care will be primarily delivered on prescription from dentists within the PDS. The post holder will be expected to have involvement in the development and delivery of Oral Health Improvement initiatives, new approaches to patient care and partnership working. Following appropriate training and calibration, the post holder will be required to carry out detailed and basic National Dental Inspection Programme assessments. The post holder will be expected to deliver care in a variety of sites, such as, but not exclusively, Prison, Hospitals, satellite clinics, schools, patient’s homes and residences, and other sites deemed appropriate.
