Job Description We have a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to join the Finance Team of our Institutional Retirement (IR) Division in an exciting new role that has been created due to continued business growth. As a Finance Manager you will support with new developments and initiatives such as new products, new asset classes and structures. Which will include deriving the accounting treatment and driving process changes to accommodate these developments. You will also drive wider-scale process improvements and participate in large change and transformation projects as required. Additionally, you will also support the team in reporting deliverables during peak times (or as required). This a hybrid working opportunity, which means that you split your time by working flexibly between our London or Hove Offices and your home, to find a work-life balance that works for you. What you'll be doing: Supporting the business with new developments and day-to-day changes in the existing business including - but not limited to - new/ amended products, complex new business transactions and new asset classes. Your involvement will range from deriving the accounting treatment through to process implementation. Supporting the IR Finance Team in delivering improvements to existing processes by continuously identifying opportunities to improve our financial tools and processes. Developing an in-depth awareness of Institutional Retirement’s business and financial results to aid consistent and accurate reporting of results through group and divisional reporting. Supporting with the day-to-day operations of the financial accounting processes run by IR Finance. This includes performing necessary controls, reconciliations, and reviews of Accounting Operations outputs and identifying / addressing concerns to ensure ongoing integrity of results. Supporting the planning of financial reporting activities including the monitoring of accounting inputs into the team and production of accounting deliveries to the wider L&G Group. This includes ensuring compliance with deadlines by effectively communicating within both the IR Division and Group Finance. Ensuring that the appropriate reporting strategies, policies, processes, systems and controls are in place, and that the risks and issues are identified and escalated as required, to ensure that customers are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and TCF policies. Working with the Directors to ensure that the appropriate metrics and Finance MI are in place to provide support to the Business so that customers are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and TCF policies.
