An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Manager on our Manufacturing Site in Runcorn. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Plant Manager where the successful candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of plant operation in the Vynova Runcorn area on a continuous basis, which includes SHE, output, product quality, and cost performance.
The Runcorn Vynova Asset is currently undergoing a major investment programme, with the new plant currently undergoing commissioning. This is an excellent time to join our dynamic team as there will be substantial responsibility from day 1 as you will help drive the asset through this critical period.
Responsibilities include:
1. Responsibility for managing and developing your own shift team of up to 5 people as well as contributing to the effective management of the plant as a whole. This may include periods of time on days to support the development of systems, project work, or preparation for events.
2. Responsible for upholding the standards of the team in line with the Vynova Values and expected behaviours of our employees, including managing absence, time management, overall performance of the team, and all general standards including dress codes and housekeeping.
3. Monitor and control the routine and non-routine operations on the plant to achieve the weekly and monthly production plans in line with budgeted targets.
4. Monitor and control plant performance against the safety, hygiene, and environmental consents.
5. Investigate plant problems and ensure that the limits of plant operation are at all times clearly understood and adhered to.
6. Respond to any alarm or emergency condition, taking on the lead role of Technical Advisor.
7. Manage routine and non-routine maintenance work activities outside normal day working hours.
8. Lead the Risk Assessment process.
9. Responsible for your shifts training and compliance to all site instructions and will develop each individual in the shift team.
Ideal Candidate:
* Certificate in Line Management (NVQ Level 3)
* HNC or Equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
* 10 years experience on a complex manufacturing plant
* Ability to fault find operational problems on a top tier COMAH plant
* Experience in work control from an operational perspective
* Strong communication skills
