Job Summary This role offers an opportunity to work in a pivotal position within a high-profile NHS Chief Executive office. You will collaborate with the CEO, Strategy and Transformation Director, and Head of Policy and Engagement to ensure the smooth operation of the CEO Office and support the organisation’s international engagement activities. Opportunities for skill development and new experiences are provided within this role, contributing to the mission of NHS Blood and Transplant in saving lives through donation. The successful candidate will coordinate between the CEO Office and Strategy teams, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Experience in politically sensitive environments is essential, as is discretion in managing communications and meetings. Main Duties This role entails providing Executive Assistant and administrative support focused on international engagement. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with the CEO office to prepare necessary briefings, drawing contributions from stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts. Supporting the CEO's participation in national and international meetings and events. Organizing complex meetings, seminars, and events with various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery. Assisting the Strategy and Transformation Director with international events and documentation. Engaging with stakeholders on international procurement projects, ensuring proper governance and documentation. Providing comprehensive Executive Assistant services, including diary, mailbox, meeting, and travel management. Contributing to marketing efforts, including media articles and budget management. Occasional travel to NHSBT sites and irregular hours may be required. About You Experience and Knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office, enabling report compilation and professional communication. Knowledge of equipment and supplies related to blood and tissue processing. Ability to manage own work and that of others with independent judgment. Experience with documentation related to international goods shipment and stock management. Advanced personal assistant skills including travel and meeting arrangements. Practical business experience with senior management. Knowledge of domestic and international blood communities. Experience in budget management and project support, preferably in the NHS or public sector. Qualifications and Training Level 5 qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience in scientific/medical settings. NVQ Level 4 in a relevant qualification and/or significant experience in similar roles. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
