The Hyde Group are established industry experts within Aerospace Engineering and have a new vacancy for Head of Health and Safety, working at our busy Divisional Head Office in Dukinfield. This is an important leadership role within the division to lead, promote and drive a strong Health and Safety culture across Hyde Aero Products to help ensure a strong and consistent Safety-first message.
Working as part of the senior management team, the role holder will act as the Competent Person on behalf of the Divisional Board. They will support the Hyde Aero Products business units to ensure that the safety of all workers remains a priority.

Main Responsibilities:
* Promotion of a Health and Safety culture within the workplace.
* Provide H&S management assistance and support for all HAP sites.
* Lead the HAP ISO45001 accreditation.
* Maintain existing and likely develop new controls at a divisional level.
* Support business unit management teams to ensure working practices are safe and comply with applicable HSE legislation/regulation, e.g. risk management.
* Assist in the development & implementation of Safety management systems, procedures and policies.
* Support the carrying out of regular audit, observation and risk assessment.
* Assist with the induction of new employees and toolbox talks.
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* A background / proven track record in H&S management in a manufacturing/engineering environment (ideally a minimum of 5 years).
* Minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate or IOSH Level 3 in H&S Management or equivalent.
* Familiarity with relevant HSE legislation and regulations.
* Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management skills (ability to influence senior stakeholders).
* Attention to detail.
* Pragmatic, but determined approach.
Desirable Experience:
* REACH/COSHH/DSEAR and managing hazardous substances within a chemical treatments plant.
* Understanding of Environmental Management disciplines, particularly in the Chemical treatments industry.
* Have experience with working in/with a multi-disciplined organisation.
