A well known brand in Cumbria are looking to appoint a new Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function for one of their sizeable manufacturing divisions. This is an autonomous role in which the successful candidate will be able to add value whilst remaining hands on in routine accounting duties and projects.
A full time role is available, however my client is open to applications from candidates seeking a reduced hours working pattern or flexible working arrangements.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a number 1 site based role with duties including:
• Line management of 1 experienced Management Accountant
• Overseeing the production of financial reports and management accounts
• Leading the year end and audit process, being key point of contact for externals
• Regular liaison with HOD’s to evaluate spend against sales performance and cost saving opportunities, influencing and challenging where appropriate
• Management of cash forecast submissions
• Lead the budgeting process
• Responsibility for VAT processing and reporting
• Ensuring all relevant controls, regulations/compliance and procedures are adhered to correctly
• Management of inventory
• Much opportunity to add value through leading various ad hoc projects relating to process implementation and improvements
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
The successful candidate will be proven in a similar level role. Ideally you will be CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified although candidates who are QBE will be considered. A good strength of character is also required with the ability to confidently communicate and challenge across a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the ability to implement and improve systems and processes is also required as part of this role. Future career progression is anticipated as the business continues to grow.
