Reporting to: Community Protection Manager.
The Environmental Health and Community Protection Unit needs two officers with experience in delivering customer service and administrative support to support its services.
The Community Protection Unit deals with Environmental Health and Anti-Social Behaviour issues on a Neighbourhood Area basis both proactively and in response to high levels of customer service demand. These roles will impact on functions across the service including:
* Food Hygiene and Standards
* Trading Standards
* Anti-Social Behaviour
* Pollution
* Health & Safety
* Environmental Protection
* Private Sector Housing including property licensing
* Waste and Environmental Crime
* Animal Health and Licensing
* CCTV
You will be expected to deal with a range of customer enquiries across all access channels including face to face, telephone, and email, providing customers with accurate, clear, relevant, and high-quality advice and information, as well as carrying out procurement and financial tasks.
The role includes issuing first-stage warnings in some investigatory matters, and also robust triaging and information or intelligence build-up before referral for further investigation by senior enforcement staff.
You must be enthusiastic, a good team worker with commitment, flexibility, and the capability of working on your own initiative. You will need to demonstrate positive skills in establishing and developing productive working relationships and also deliver against personal and team targets.
Additional training will be provided to ensure the right candidates have the skills to do the job effectively.

Until 31st March 2026, employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
