Job overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse has arisen within The Intensive Positive Behaviour Service (IPBS). We are looking to recruit into this post and we welcome applications from RNMH and RNLD nurses.
IPBS is a specialist service providing intensive positive behaviour support to children and young people who are displaying complex challenging behaviour between the ages of 4-18 years with a Learning Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. The post offers the opportunity to develop clinical skills relevant to the post, together with professional development opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate for the post will require DBS ENHANCED clearance before the commencement of duties.
Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
* 12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need.
* Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards and other local and national initiatives.
* Understanding of difficult to manage/challenging behaviours.
Education and qualification
* Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent.
* Evidence of post-registration training in clinical interventions/skills relevant to the post.
* Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
* Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
* Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
* Experience of working in a community team.
Skills and Competencies
* Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessment of individuals with complex health needs.
* Demonstrate an understanding of effective and appropriate treatment options.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively with other professionals using a multi-agency approach.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
* Clinical leadership.
