Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Senior Structural Engineer required by my Client, an award-winning SME, a highly successful Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy with multiple offices based throughout the UK. My Clients thriving Structures Division is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated Senior Structural Engineer to join their Warwick Office.
Working on a broad range of structural projects, this role can offer you the opportunity to design and deliver a very diverse and generally challenging range of schemes, incorporating bespoke new build structures, refurbishment, and heritage works. One of my Client's core values is re-use and sustainable engineering design.
The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of structural engineering projects and have experienced complex and challenging structural designs from conception to completion.
Applicants will be Degree Qualified ideally with:
1. Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
2. Strong post-graduate structural design experience gained and ideally from a consultancy-led background which focuses on building design
3. Full UK driving license and own transport
4. Ideally Chartered or near-chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStructE)
Role Responsibilities:
1. Detailed knowledge of structural design and detailing using all relevant UK and European codes of practice
2. Producing preliminary design solutions and reviewing with clients as part of design strategy
3. Producing detailed designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reviews
4. Attendance at design, project progress, and client engagement meetings
5. Liaising with contractors, clients, third-party organisations, and stakeholders, answering queries in relation to technical detailing
6. Design in all forms of construction including steelwork, reinforced/precast concrete, masonry, and timber
7. Structural appraisals of commercial, industrial, and residential structures
8. Management of projects cost and programme
9. Management of sustainability criteria
10. Complying with designers' duties under the CDM Regulations
11. Produce sketches, drawings, and writing structural appraisal reports
12. Knowledge of BREEAM, sustainability objectives, and embodied carbon
13. Supervising the CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers on technical/construction details and undertaking QA reviews
