Brief details of position:
A vacancy has arisen for an experienced practical self-motivated individual to work as a Kitchen / Bathroom fitter in our Project and Building Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out project and planned maintenance works across the country. A good working knowledge of Building Trades will be required. Being well presented at all times and competent to provide technical advice when required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Complete kitchens and bathrooms and planned maintenance repairs across various contracts.
* Assess and order parts and equipment necessary for individual tasks.
* Cover a variety of different tasks inclusive of kitchen fitting, plumbing, bathroom fitting, decorating, general repairs, and stripping out existing fittings.
* Work to recognised industry standards at all times.
* Undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (Continued Professional Development).
* Assist other trades as/when required.
* Be part of an out of hours call out rota as required.
Essential skills:
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
* Plastering - Essential.
* Tiling - Essential.
* Basic Plumbing - Essential.
* Previous experience fitting kitchens and bathrooms to a high standard - Essential.
* Extensive Knowledge in building fabric services.
* Extensive Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
* Ability to act on own initiative.
* Full clean driving licence.
Further details:
This is a mobile role and you will be required to travel to various sites as and when required. This would suit an individual that can work using their own initiative and has a proactive approach to undertake all tasks required, a conscientious and reliable team player, and someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful applicant will also be required to undertake and obtain an Enhanced DBS check during the first month of commencement of employment.
Applicants will be required to be on our out of hours rota (approx. 1 in 5) with a £140 standby fee per week when on call, with callouts paid at 1.5 x standard rate, door to door.
20 Days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
