Teacher of Drama and Performing Arts We have a wonderful opportunity for an inspiring and dedicated teacher to join Backwell School as part of our Performing Arts department, specialising in Drama. This is a full-time permanent position beginning on 1 September 2025. Our Performing Arts Curriculum Area encompasses Music, Dance and Drama teaching. At Key Stage 3, we teach Performing Arts, which includes both Drama and Dance to all pupils, with a generous allocation of curriculum time. At Key Stage 4, we run Drama GCSE and also the Cambridge National in Performing Arts. At Key Stage 5, we run Drama A Level and also the OCR Cambridge Technical in Performing Arts. The Drama department has great facilities, including a well-equipped theatre will full height stage, green room, lighting/directors box and a balcony. We also have a number of other drama spaces as well as a dedicated Dance Studio with sprung floor and a Theatre Technician. We are looking for someone who can: • be an inspirational classroom teacher who is dedicated to provide high quality teaching and learning at all key stages. • drive students to raise standards to achieve at all levels; and • demonstrate commitment to the values and core beliefs of Backwell School Backwell School is a large comprehensive school with over 1600 students of which 300 are in the Sixth Form.
