Our client, a respected and progressive legal practice, is looking to recruit a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic Accounts Team. This role offers the chance to work alongside an experienced Accounts Manager and a second Accounts Assistant as part of their wider Operations Team, contributing to the firm’s financial operations. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will support the firm’s finance functions, with responsibilities including: Logging cheques and funds received, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with fee earners and secretaries. Handling transactions such as WIP transfers, bill postings, credit notes, and auto transactions. Processing cheques, bank reconciliations, and deposit account transfers. Managing purchase ledgers, posting invoices, and ensuring timely payment of due invoices. Supporting month-end activities, including aged debt reports and WIP & debtor meetings. Posting staff expenses and processing card payments. About You The ideal candidate will bring: Qualifications & Skills : While a legal cashier qualification is advantageous, it is not essential. A strong academic background, excellent numeracy skills, and proficiency in IT (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel) are key. Attention to Detail : You approach tasks with accuracy and care, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Adaptability : You can manage conflicting priorities, work under pressure, and pick up new systems quickly. Communication & Teamwork : Strong verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. Professionalism : A solid understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and the importance of discretion in a legal environment.
