Junior Photographer

About us
This position is based at the Science and Innovation Park (SIP) in Wroughton, at the heart of the Park is the National Collections Centre (NCC), home to around 90% of the Science Museum Group (SMG) Collection.
We are conducting a consolidation project of the objects within the hangars on site at the NCC, the main store for museum objects of Science Museum Group. Photography is taking place of the objects for our Collections Online website: collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk.
We are recruiting for Junior Photographers to join on a fixed-term contracts until December 2025. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week and is based at the Science and Innovation Park in Wroughton, Swindon.
About the role
As a Junior Photographer you will undertake large scale, rapid, professional imaging of the collection. You will be working with Collections Project Officers to provide high quality images of the collection based in hangars onsite at NCC.
The role offers a unique opportunity to work with an incredible museum collection. You will play a crucial role in making the collection available digitally through Science Museum Group's Collections Online website. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career as a cultural heritage photographer and would suit early career candidates.

About you
Joining us, you will have technical expertise in photography and digital imaging software and the ability to follow procedures and protocols consistently to meet imaging objectives and standards within a tight timeframe.
Crucially, you will have good attention to detail and pride in delivering work to a consistently professional standard. You will have the ability to work effectively in time-sensitive situations and collaboratively as part of a team delivering high-volume photography.
