To provide legal and procedural advice and services in the most effective and efficient way to meet the requirements of the Council’s family of companies and wider services.
We are looking to recruit an experienced lawyer to primarily support the Council’s family of arms-length delivery companies, involving a wide range of contentious and non-contentious legal work such as advising on the governing documents, company procedure and governance, contracts and grant agreements, conflicts of interest and information management. Other more general Council matters will be required alongside.
Prior local government experience is desirable but not essential.
The current areas of work of the team which are relevant to this post are:
Support to the company boards
Procurement
Contracts, contract management and dispute resolution
TUPE and pensions
Governance and decision making
Information management
Conflicts of Interest
Subsidy Control
The postholder will work in a specified Council office and may also work from home on an occasional or more frequent basis.
Many services and customers span across the Borough and therefore you may be required to work at any location in Cheshire West and Chester.
