Postdoctoral Researcher in OLEDs and Organic Lasers
The Organic Semiconductor Centre at the University of St Andrews is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to work on a new UKRI/Horizon Europe funded project High-Speed Organic Photonics and OptoElectronics (HiSOPE). This project will develop OLEDs and organic lasers as a new generation of high-speed and environmentally sustainable light sources, suitable for a range of applications including optical interconnects, wireless communications, and IoT sensors.
Responsibilities
This position will develop high performance OLEDs and integrate laser cavities with high-speed OLEDs, before testing these devices for applications including optical interconnects and optical sensors. The research project will combine studies of new materials, cleanroom fabrication, as well as optical measurements. The successful applicant will have opportunities for collaborative research with our European partners in France, the Netherlands, and Lithuania.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hold or be close to submission of PhD in relevant subject, including a strong component of photonics
* Experience of applying relevant analytical skills, techniques, and methods including:
* OLED design, fabrication, and characterisation
* Good track record of published papers commensurate with stage of career
