Job Description: Materials Manager Ashford Permanent Your new role As a Materials Manager at Hitachi Rail Limited you will have responsibility and ownership for all aspects of materials management, including budget, stock levels, availability, & team development. Manage the Materials team to ensure the control of goods inwards, delivery booking, goods receiving and any stock discrepancies. Support the SAP development team to ensure the maintenance management system meets the needs of the materials and logistics teams on the TMC. Responsible for maintaining the storage system in stores. Responsible for special tools store, IMTE control processes and calibration management system. Support the Head of Supply Chain and Regional Stores Managers with the development of a Supply Chain Operations Processes. Responsible for managing all inventory stock movement using the SAP system. Support the central material repairs and warranty team ensure ALL repairs are promptly and effectively processed with suppliers. Manage materials in line with the TSSSA and provide reporting to the Fleet director Support the Procurement team with setting up of Service and support contracts. Support the TMC Manager in the development of the tool control processes for designated TMC Full responsibility for designated outstations, including Stock audits/ process management/ control of consumables and tooling in liaison with the Outstations management team. Responsible for the TMC Stores lead auditee for all internal, stakeholder and customer audits on inventory, including Owner Owned Stock (D&V, Capital and Major Incident Spares), Owner Owned Special Tools, and HRE Spares. Responsible for ensuring Goods in and Stores areas are manned and maintained in tidy order, with all SAP transactions managed in a timely manner. Responsible to ensure Value for Money decisions are made on arising costs when incurred, e.g. transport costs, commodities call-off orders, etc., Responsible to ensure good working arrangements, protocols and procedures are in place with the Hitachi 3PL. Responsible for maintaining health and safety standards in the warehouse environment. Responsible for maintaining and circulate data and trend analysis of commodity (e.g. oil, fuel, ad blue, sand, etc.,) supplier performance at a frequency and depth that allows key decisions to be made that will improve upon product / service quality and facilitate reductions in associated costs. Responsible for ensuring all personnel are fully trained, competent and engaged within the Stores at the TMC Responsible for inventory stock checks in accordance with finance reporting procedures.
