Solution Architect (Strategic Networks) Solution Architect (Strategic Networks for Laboratory Integration) 3 months contract (initially) – 12 month project Remote Working c£500 to £550 per day (Outside-IR35) The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to consult on a critical central government healthcare project that will see you lead the design and delivery of innovative solutions that enhance network connectivity for laboratory-based equipment, directly addressing productivity, compliance and administrative challenges faced by our client’s laboratory teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the UK's public health by enabling cutting-edge laboratory operations through ICT advancements and contribute to a high-impact initiative. Skills and Experience: Proven track record as a Solution Architect in complex IT infrastructure projects. Expertise in network connectivity and integration for specialized equipment in laboratory or healthcare environments. Demonstrable experience producing HLDs, LLDs and technical roadmaps. Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels effectively. Strong reasoning, negotiation, and collaborative working skills. Familiarity with ICT governance processes (TACB/TRB) and VMware. Experience in healthcare, laboratory systems or government projects. Knowledge of compliance and security protocols in sensitive environments Role and Responsibilities: Strategic Design: develop and deliver Solution Architecture to support Strategic Networks for Laboratory Integration. Technical Expertise: build on an existing Proof of Concept (PoC) to transition secure network communications between BioMek i5 robots and the S-LIMS system into full production operations. Documentation: produce high-quality architecture designs (HLD, LLD), roadmaps and detailed reports addressing key issues, options and outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement: communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and able to adapt communication styles to suit diverse audiences while providing sound reasoning and negotiation skills. Solution Delivery: define IP address assignments, device IDs and folder authentication protocols, as well as supporting implementation planning, change requests and production rollouts. Collaboration: work productively with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within scope, time and budget constraints. N.B.
