Our customer, a global law firm is seeking an experienced FS Legal Project Manager to join their team on a 4-5 month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global law firm and lead high-impact legal projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This full-time position will be based in the Birmingham office, with the flexibility of 2 days remote working. The role focuses on leading and managing large-scale Financial Services regulatory matters for a single client, overseeing multiple workstreams, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of complex legal projects. As the FS Legal Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of fee earners and contractors, driving key project deliverables, and ensuring the successful execution of high-value contracts and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the legal or financial services sector, with experience in managing teams and delivering large-scale legal projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead and Manage FS Regulatory Matters: Take ownership of a financial services regulatory matter for a single client, managing 5 active workstreams and ensuring smooth progress across all areas. Project Management: Oversee project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure tasks are completed within budget and deadlines. Allocate work across the team and ensure all outputs meet quality standards. Team Leadership: Supervise a team of legal professionals, including fee earners, junior staff, and contractors (up to 20 people), providing guidance, answering queries, and ensuring tasks are completed on time. Quality Control: Perform quality checks on all work outputs to ensure accuracy and completeness before moving to the next phase of the project. Client Communication: Provide daily updates to management and communicate project status to the client, ensuring alignment on objectives and timelines. Documentation Oversight: Ensure that all documentation is complete, clear, and properly filed before advancing to subsequent stages of the project. Contractor Management: Effectively manage contractors across the project, ensuring their work aligns with overall project goals and timelines. Key Requirements: Experience in Legal Project Management (Financial Services regulatory matters preferred) Proven ability to manage large, complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of legal professionals and contractors Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient allocation of resources Strong communication and organizational skills Experience managing contractors and fee earners in a legal environment Not required to be a qualified lawyer, but a Bar License or Legal Qualification would be an advantage Desirable Skills: Experience with Financial Services regulatory projects and remediation programs Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams Familiarity with legal project management tools and methodologies About Elevate Elevate provides consulting, technology and services to law departments and law firms across the globe.
