We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Lecturer in the area of Civil Engineering with a relevant subject specialism and a strong record of success in the teaching of a diverse range of modules. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with knowledge and experience in the areas of construction, structural analysis or structural design at the undergraduate level.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD qualification in a relevant subject area, maintain registration with an engineering professional body, demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to a practical, laboratory practice-based, and industry-informed teaching, and lead and contribute to the broader School activities for its continued growth.
To plan, design, develop and deliver a range of high-quality programmes of study at all levels, ensuring that programme design and delivery comply with the academic quality standards and regulations of the University. To supervise students at all levels and, where required, to coordinate or supervise the work of research assistants and PhD students.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake individual and collaborative research and innovation projects aligned to the research themes and priorities of the School and University.
* Deliver teaching and facilitate learning across a range of modules in Civil Engineering and/or within the specialist subject domain.
* Take a lead in your own area of expertise and support less experienced colleagues in developing their teaching and research.
* Comply with the personal health and safety responsibilities specified in the University Health and Safety policy.
