Your new role
The principal accountabilities for this role include:
1. Working with the Governance Team to create, implement, and maintain the organisation's governance framework.
2. Managing specific projects and programs to improve governance effectiveness.
3. Ensuring all governance policies and procedures are up-to-date.
4. Full Board secretariat management, including agenda setting, document distribution, and meeting minutes.
5. Ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and regulations, conducting reviews and audits, and liaising with regulatory bodies.
6. Developing and implementing a governance risk management framework, identifying and mitigating risks, and promoting a risk-aware culture.
7. Reviewing key governance policies, ensuring their effective communication and implementation, and providing advice on policy interpretation.
8. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and government agencies.
What you'll need to succeed
The essential criteria for this role include:
1. Being fully or partially CGI-qualified or having a similar qualification, or being qualified by recent, relevant experience.
2. Substantial experience in governance, compliance, and risk management within the public or third sector.
3. Previous experience in a Company Secretarial, governance, or similar role.
4. Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements affecting public/third sector organisations.
5. The ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage one's workload effectively to meet tight deadlines.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
7. Capability of developing and implementing governance frameworks and policies.
