PlantManager The Plant Manager is a critical role within the Rail Operations Leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of Rail Operations. The role is responsible for ensuring all McCulloch plant is maintained to a high standard meeting our compliance obligations, to ensure the Operations team can deliver a high quality service to customers. Key Areas of Responsibility Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and procedures that minimise equipment downtime and operational disruptions. Supervising and managing the maintenance team to ensure that all maintenance activities are performed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards. Managing maintenance-related budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep. Liaising with the internal manufacturing team to ensure requirements for Plant maintenance are understood and tracking to timeline and budget. Manage the whole fleet asset register for owned plant, attachments, calibrated equipment and certain OTP vehicles. Allocate technical resource to deliver tasks, factoring in workload and both internal and external demands. RIS 1530 7 year re certification, interaction with PAB’s to complete relevant checklists, provide all required evidence, update and supply manuals within the RIS 1530 requirements. Rail PPS – manage close out of FRACAS for any identified failures recorded on the system. Support the introduction of new systems and technologies to help plan and record safety critical maintenance tasks. Provide technical support and leadership to technicians. Undertake briefings of new procedures and standards to technicians. Identify and manage refurbishment programs for current assets. Monitor and manage On Track Plant upgrade requirements, and engage with Plant Acceptance Bodies for testing and certification. Support new project deliveries where required, providing technical support and engagement with project delivery teams within McCulloch Manufacturing business unit. Skills and Experience A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field is typically required. Relevant certifications such as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) are highly advantageous. Extensive experience in maintenance, including a minimum of five years in a similar role, preferably in the Rail industry. Proven track record of successfully managing budgets, teams, and medium-scale maintenance teams. Strong understanding of compliance and safety regulations pertinent to the industry. Demonstrate excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectually guide the maintenance team and collaborate with other department leaders.
