This role is fantastic for a candidate who is highly organised and has strong interpersonal skills to deliver internal and external communications across BILD and its three partner charities.
Job Title: Communications Officer
Reporting into: Communications Director
Contract: Full time, permanent (37.5 per week, flexible)
Salary: £29,475 per annum
Location: Remote working with some travel for annual staff away days; in-person team meetings (approximately one per quarter) and events as required
Closing date: 14th of February 2025
Role responsibilities:
* In agreement with the Communication Director, support the delivery and development of communication activity across several different marketing channels.
* Support and develop internal communications across BILD and its partner charities.
* Work the Senior Communications Officer on social media content creation, scheduling and reporting.
* Support Communities of Practice with agreed communications activity, including co-creating communications plans, developing newsletters and administering social media groups.
* Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to source, research and develop content in support of all marketing and external relations activity.
* Maintain and develop the charities’ websites.
* Support with monitoring and reporting of communications activity to inform continual improvement.
* Attend and support delivery of Bild events, including webinars and conferences, as required.

* Show a strong consideration for accessibility considerations, particularly for those with learning disabilities and autistic people.
* Participate and contribute to individual performance appraisal and supervision sessions.
* Keep abreast of relevant initiatives and developments within the sector.
* Undertake relevant training, as necessary, including accessing new systems and software as required to support the role.
* Comply with Bild policies as outlined in staff handbook.
* Maintain the strictest security in relation to documentation and ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with relevant Data Protection and associated legislation.
Skills and experience:
Essential:
* Experience in communications, internal communications or a similar role.
* Experience in implementing communications plans/ strategies.
* Experience in social media creation/ management.
* Ability to adopt organisational tone of voice, work within and champion brand guidelines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in packages including Microsoft Office and Adobe.
* Strong copywriting skills.
* Passionate about equality and human rights.
Desirable:
* Experience of charity, health, social care or SEN sectors.
* Experience of working with people with lived experience of learning disability, people experiencing mental health difficulties or autistic people.
* Experience of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
* Proficiency in using digital communications platforms including email marketing platforms, social media management platforms and graphic design platforms.
* Experience of using a CMS for website management, WordPress preferred.
