Purpose
As a member of the Pilgrim’s Shared Services Group legal team, you will work closely with colleagues across the three group companies providing timely, sound, commercially focused legal advice on a range of commercial agreements of varying complexity, major projects, transactions, procurement, trademarks, GDPR, civil litigation, regulatory matters including food labelling along with general day to day legal and compliance work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements including NDAs, amendments to standard terms and conditions of purchase and bespoke agreements.
2. Advising on and managing a wide range of legal issues including civil litigation and regulatory matters.
3. Evaluating and weighing multiple inputs/impacts of decisions/courses of action and identifying proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
4. Assisting with continued development of compliance programme and advising on ad hoc compliance related queries (e.g. competition law, anti-bribery and corruption, conflict of interest).
5. Performing other tasks and projects as assigned from time to time.
Skills & Knowledge
1. UK Qualified Solicitor or Barrister.
2. Newly qualified – 2 years post qualification experience (given as a guide only).
3. High calibre experience with a top law firm or experience working in a fast-paced, in-house legal environment.
4. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial & procurement contracts, with exposure to intellectual property, antitrust, anti-bribery and other regulatory issues including food labelling.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships and relate to clients at all levels of the business.
6. Confidence to work with limited supervision.
7. Ability to find creative solutions to legal challenges.
8. Willingness to expand on legal knowledge and experience.
9. Flexibility to travel as required to meet the demands of the job across UK and ROI.
10. Full driving licence.
