JOB DESCRIPTION
Working continental shifts (4 days on, 4 days off) as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to maintain electrical and mechanical systems on various special purpose machinery for the metal forming industry. Proactively responding to preventative and corrective maintenance needs of an international rollforming group.
THE ROLE
* Respond to production breakdowns promptly
* Manage workload using Maintenance smartphone app
* Identify root causes and implement long-term solutions
* Focus on customer service, communication, support, and education
* Document all modifications to equipment
* Suggest improvements on machinery
* Perform TPM activities as required
* Support machinery installations with basic site maintenance
* Follow safety practices at all times
THE CANDIDATE
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance-related qualification
* Up-to-date electrical wiring regulations knowledge (Level 1 C&G minimum)
* At least 5 years’ experience maintaining industrial equipment
* Understanding of machine functions and degradation
* Good communicator via email and maintenance apps
* Proficient in Microsoft, Adobe, and Windows applications
* Fluent in English; no second language required
* Strong technical knowledge of production systems; industry experience preferred
* Ability to read and interpret engineering/electrical drawings
* Knowledge of power presses and press regulation courses (desirable)
* Ability to operate overhead cranes and lifts safely (desirable)
* Good mechanical knowledge
* Ability to operate a forklift (training provided)
* Experience with MEWPs (desirable)
* Experience maintaining hydraulics and pneumatics
* Fault-finding skills on PLC and control systems
* Knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental systems
* Current passport and full UK driver’s license
