About the Role The Safety Team provides support, guidance and direction across the Group, ensuring we comply with our statutory obligations and also implement best practice. They are seeking a full time Health and Safety Manager (South) to join their agile, dynamic and busy team. This newly created role will work alongside the Health and Safety Manager (North), and together they will deliver Health and Safety excellence across the Group by: Ensuring that 2Excel Group meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting across multiple sites throughout the UK. Monitoring standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety can be complied with. Working with Department Managers to complete regular reviews of risk assessments for all work equipment, COSHH and Company operations. Ensuring that safety inspections on work areas, equipment and processes are carried out. Developing Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies, systems of work and procedures for 2Excel Group Ltd. Ensuring full and accurate Health and Safety and training records are maintained, including occupational health monitoring data. Appropriately closing audit findings resulting from Safety, Health, and Wellbeing and/or Compliance Monitoring. Provide advice and guidance on Health and Safety matters to management and staff. Performing investigations and preparing Health and Safety reports relating to Health and Safety occurrences and near misses within the business. Whilst this role will be based at Lasham, the successful candidate should expect to travel regularly between our sites, therefore a driving license is essential. The focus will primarily be the South of England at our sites in Lasham, Southend, Lydd and Newquay with ad-hoc cover required in the North. About You You’ll already be working in a Health and Safety Manager role or you’re at Advisor/Officer level and feel ready to take the next step. You may have safety qualifications, such as IOSH and NEBOSH, but this isn’t essential if you’ve got the right experience instead. With a strong working knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulation, you’ll be used to working with managers and employees to implement Health and Safety best practice in the workplace, with a focus on continuous improvement. You’ll be a natural leader, with the ability to communicate, negotiate and influence at all levels of the business. Whilst not essential, we would particularly welcome applications from individuals who have experience within the aviation industry but, as a minimum, you should have experience of working in a highly regulated environment. Experience of working within a factory or manufacturing setting will also stand you in good stead. With strong IT skills, you’ll be experienced in using online, integrated management tools, and will be confident using these tools to support reporting and presenting.
