Morgan Hunt is working with a college in Cambridge who are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Supported Learning Lecturer with a focus on Creative Industries. This role involves providing effective teaching and learning development for students with learning disabilities, enabling them to access and successfully achieve their chosen programme of study.
Salary: £27,- £40, per annum pro rata
Hours: 29.6 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
1. Course Team Leadership:Act as course team lead and tutor for a group of students with moderate entry-level learning needs.Lead the Introduction to Creative Industries course.
2. Curriculum Design:Design schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment schedules to capture RARPA outcomes and accredited qualifications.
3. Quality Assurance:Support internal Quality Assurance processes and prepare accredited work for sampling in adherence to deadlines.
4. Identify Learning Support Needs:Assess and address students' learning disabilities.Monitor student welfare and make necessary referrals to student services
5. EHCP Tracking:Track and monitor students' EHCP targets in line with RARPA processes.
6. Collaborative Material Preparation:Prepare and adapt learning materials with mentoring staff to ensure all learners make good progress.
7. LSM Direction:Direct Learning Support Mentors to ensure impactful and rapid learning progress.
8. Student Support and Liaison:Conduct regular tutorial meetings, liaise with parents, carers, key workers, and Local Authority professionals.Track and record intervention strategies from specialists and support mentors in implementing these strategies.
9. Training:Undertake Proact-SCIP and first aid training for the Supported Learning Department.
10. Report Writing:Produce written reports to support EHCP meetings.
11. Colleague Support:Participate in the cover rota to support colleagues during absences or training periods.
Qualifications and Experience:
12. Relevant teaching qualification
13. Experience working with students with learning disabilities
14. Proficiency in teaching English and maths at Entry and Level 1
15. Understanding of RARPA processes and EHCP targets
