Be part of the movement – and play your part. About the role As our HR Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our teams are supported, engaged, and compliant with employment legislation. You will work closely with our HRBP and managers, offering strategic HR advice and hands-on support across various people-related issues, which may include payroll and HR coordination administration. Although you will be based in Jersey, there will be an expectation for you to travel when required to other DFDS sites, such as Portsmouth, Poole and at times Dover. You will be a key player in the establishment of this new route and pivotal in ensuring its successful setup. Your deep understanding of local intricacies will be crucial in navigating the unique challenges and opportunities that come with this role. You will be responsible for: Providing expert HR guidance to managers on performance, development, and compliance. Managing employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, restructures and TUPE. Delivering/coaching local training programs/systems to support staff development and leadership capability. Ensuring HR policies and procedures remain up-to-date and aligned with employment law. Collaborating with leadership to enhance employee engagement and workplace culture. About you The ideal candidate is a well-organised HR professional with strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. They are a confident communicator who builds strong relationships at all levels and provides clear, expert HR advice. Comprehensive knowledge of Jersey employment law. Proactive and engaged, they thrive on working closely with teams and management to drive positive change. Comfortable challenging the status quo, they can adapt their approach to suit managers of varying experience levels. With at least three years of HR experience, they have a diligent, safety-conscious mindset and a full driving licence, ensuring flexibility to travel between sites. A true team player, they actively contribute to the wider HR function, attending meetings, training, and supporting business success.
