Crest Nicholson South West are currently recruiting for a Land Buyer to work in our South West Division based in Stoke Gifford.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Form and maintain close working relationships with land agents and other parties associated with land disposals.
2. Assist in identifying development sites located within the Region’s area of operation.
3. Assist in evaluating potential land opportunities by carrying out market research, planning assessments, technical and financial appraisals.
4. Assist in the coordination of external consultants in the preparation of design and technical support information to evaluate land opportunities.
5. Assist in making land offers to purchase and negotiating the most advantageous price and terms directly with the vendor or their Agents, upon terms which are commercially satisfactory to the Company and approved by the Regional Director.
6. Assist in the exchange of contracts to purchase and, ultimately, the legal completion, by managing Solicitors and obtaining legal verification that the terms of purchase are satisfactory to the Company.
7. Assist other members of the Land and Planning team in the preparation and management of planning applications.
8. Work closely with other Departments e.g. Sales and Marketing, Technical, etc. in the preparation of planning applications.
9. Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the Region’s operating processes.
10. Develop and maintain good relationships with all individual companies and organisations for the Company.
11. Maintain a safe working environment within Company workplaces and apply the Company’s Health & Safety Policy for the benefit of themselves, their colleagues, third parties, and the public.
Person Specification:
1. Degree in Real Estate/Planning or other relevant Degree.
2. BSc in Residential Development, Urban Estate Surveying or Associated Subject.
3. Outgoing personality and able to communicate effectively, in a clear and concise manner.
4. Commercially aware with the ability to coordinate and assemble information/statistics from relevant sources.
5. Have an entrepreneurial approach to maximize the land value of development opportunities.
6. Able to coordinate consultant teams; organized and able to work to strict deadlines and prioritize workloads.
7. Enjoy meeting people and able to forge lasting working relationships.
8. IT literate and numerate including Excel.
