Job overview
The phlebotomy Department is part of the Cancer and Clinical Services Division. The job involves taking blood from patients in various settings. The department operates from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, with various shift patterns.
Main duties of the job
Phlebotomists are Clinical Support Workers expected to work as part of a team. After training, they obtain blood samples from patients through venepuncture and train other healthcare workers. Previous phlebotomy experience is desirable. Candidates should be responsible, adaptable, and possess good communication skills. Weekend and Bank Holiday work is required on a rota basis, with extra payment. A car is necessary for travel to various locations.
