Here at the university hospitals Dorset we are looking for a highly diligent conscientious professional to be our Medication Safety pharmacy technician specialist.
This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to be imbedded within our UHD Pharmacy Quality and Safety team. Within our team we value all our staff and their development.
1. Part time or flexible options can also be discussed at interview
2. Weekend shifts 1 in 5 (either Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one Bank Holiday shift per year.
3. Weekly late nights (usual finish 6pm)
Base Location: University hospital Dorset - Across Poole and Bournemouth sites

Main duties of the job
Support, reviews, implementation and advice on policies for medication risk reduction within the Pharmacy and Trust wide.
Monitoring and investigation of medication related incidents, writing reports and action plans identifying issues for education and change in practice.
As the specialised medication quality and safety pharmacy technician, leading pharmacy medication safety training, liaising with the pharmacy leadership team, advising and supporting pharmacy staff during incident reviews (LERNs)
Co-chair and secretary for the Pharmacy Quality and Safety Group.
Support the management and maintenance of policies, procedures and SOPs relating to medicines risk and governance.
Management and coordination of the Senior Pharmacy Safety and Governance Technician and the Cold Chain Auditors.

4. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science and BTEC in Pharmacy Services
5. Registration to The General Pharmaceutical Council
6. Accreditation as a pharmacy technician checker
7. Medicines Management technician accreditation

8. Supervisory / Management.
Experience
Essential
9. Extensive experience post qualification as a hospital pharmacy technician
10. Fluent IT user / keyboard skills at a senior level
11. Experience of undertaking audits, data collection and implementing change
