Electrician (Electrical Maintenance Engineer)
Location: Various Locations within Transport for London (TFL) network
Contract Length: 1 week
Role Overview:
Transport for London is seeking a highly skilled Electrician to support their electrical maintenance team across multiple locations within the TFL network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):
Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and tasks on electrical systems, including lighting, power supplies, and control systems.
Ensure that all electrical installations, equipment, and systems are kept in safe working condition and comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
2. Reactive Maintenance:
Respond promptly to reactive electrical faults and breakdowns, ensuring quick and effective resolutions to minimize disruption.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues across the transport network.
Perform emergency repairs and fault-finding on a variety of electrical systems and equipment.
3. Testing and Inspection:
Carry out electrical testing (including periodic inspections and certifications) on installations and systems as required.
Maintain accurate records of testing, inspections, and maintenance activities.
4. Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and practices in the execution of maintenance work.
Ensure all works are compliant with the IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and the Electricity at Work Regulations.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are fully documented.
Prepare reports on electrical systems' status and outline any further work needed to ensure compliance or enhance safety.
6. Collaborative Teamwork:
Work as part of a skilled team of engineers and electricians to ensure high-quality service delivery across the TFL network.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. 2391/2392 Electrical Qualification required for the role.
2. Proven experience in electrical maintenance, specifically in reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
3. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and controls.
4. Experience working within a transport, public infrastructure, or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
5. Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards and regulations.
