Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse. The ideal candidate should have primary care experience, however, the practice would consider providing training and mentorship for the right candidate.
Responsible for the delivery of high-quality practice nursing care to our patient population of just over 12,000, the following provides a brief outline of the role.
Working independently (within training and support) to provide care in:
1. Long Term condition management (hypertension, diabetes, asthma COPD)
2. Cytology
3. Child Immunisations
4. Vaccinations
5. Swabs, specimens, bloods, blood pressures
6. Keeping accurate and details health records on clinical system
7. A key role in QOF achievement
8. Involvement in the MDT of the surgery
9. Telephone consultations and advice
10. Discussion of blood results with patients.

This post holder will also uphold the surgeries protocols and policies, carrying out their role with compassion, understanding, and professionalism.
This role may support the wider team with:

26. Ability to review clinical practices and respond to national policies and initiatives where necessary
27. Participate in local initiatives in order to enhance local patient care where necessary
