Technician – Film and Media
Full time, 37 hours per week
£24,600 to £26,038 per annum
We are looking to recruit a full time Technician to support our School of Creative Performance and Production and its wide-ranging provision. This is a broad and varied role and will require the need to work closely with academic colleagues across the School and within the Faculty of Education and the Arts, as well as with its various stakeholders both across the University and externally.
As a Technician, you will be responsible for the provision of technical support and instruction for students for various programmes within the Faculty, with a particular focus towards film production and media provision. It will be an advantage to have other skill areas to support the School’s course teams generally, including theatre technical abilities.
The ideal candidate will be educated to A-Level standard and be in possession of comprehensive film and media training courses; as well as experience of providing technical support within an HE/professional context or have training/coaching experience.
You will need to be well versed in the various kit that could be used by students and the course teams, including cameras, lighting and sound, as well as various software such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, in particular Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition.
Ability to work within a team and independently across the various programmes, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new technologies, and flexibility to support the work of the course teams will be key.
There will be a practical exercise included as part of the interview process.
