Job Summary and Qualifications
As our pharmacist, you would provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients and ensure the safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution, and control of all medications. If you are dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, this could be your next opportunity.
What you will do in this role:
1. Coordinate and assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the requirements and needs of the patient population and community.
2. Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas.
3. Review medication orders and quality of technicians' work to ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route, and interactions. Adjust medications dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition as per policy.
4. Ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age.
5. Closely monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances that are dispensed and reconcile the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy.
6. Assist the department in addressing physician consults as needed. Provide timely retrieval of reliable drug information from available sources.
7. Communicate effectively and work with physicians and/or other members of the interdisciplinary team in meeting patient needs.
What qualifications you will need:
1. Bachelors of Science or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy.
2. Experience as a pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency preferred.
3. Eligible to sit for North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX).
4. Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
