About the role We are looking for a Senior UX Consultant to join our amazing team at User Vision. This exciting research-focused role, reporting into our Director of Consulting, is focused on leading teams in delivering rich insight for our diverse range of high-profile clients and using it to shape incredible experiences. You will work directly with key clients, identifying their needs, conceiving approaches to answer research questions or solve design problems, executing that approach in a rigorous and professional way, and translating user needs into impactful designs and deliverables. As a senior consultant, you will play a play a pivotal role in contributing to the success of the company. Your responsibilities will include balancing client work - often as the lead consultant on projects - while fostering client relationships to uncover new opportunities for collaboration. You'll also mentor junior consultants on the team, and, depending on your experience, there may be an opportunity for you to take on line management responsibilities. Your expertise in human-centred design, along with your strong leadership and client management skills, will be vital to our ongoing success and growth. How you will spend your time You will collaborate closely with our clients and our wider team to deliver valuable insights based on robust user research, informing intuitive designs that provide incredible user experiences. Your work will fall across our 4 key service areas: UX Strategy: Working with client teams to enhance their UX capabilities and embed a culture of human-centred design in their organisations. User Research: Employing mixed-method research techniques from surveys and interviews, to observation and diary studies, to help clients understand their customers and their needs. Service Design: Defining, visualising, and testing end to end product and service experiences, through collaborative design exercises, robust information architecture approaches, and iterative prototyping. Inclusive Design: Working alongside our accessibility team to ensure that all our work moves clients towards solutions that are more inclusive and open to the widest possible audience. You will also be given the opportunity to contribute to the success of the company in the following ways: Staying current with industry developments, learning from colleagues, and sharing your expertise. Supporting business growth by nurturing client relationships, identifying opportunities, and creating compelling proposals. Mentoring more junior consultants. Shaping and developing the services we offer. Contributing to the UX community through articles, networking, and conference participation. You should also have: 5 years experience of UX research in agency, consultancy or in-house teams An eye for good design and an understanding of why Solid consultancy skills that will provide our clients with clear deliverables and confidence in our work A proven ability to work to tight deadlines and handle multiple projects effectively, working well with others in a team or individually Capability to bring UX professionals and clients together into effective multi-disciplinary teams Proven ability to lead teams and get the most out of individuals Excellent business acumen, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills A commitment to continued personal and professional development Ability and willingness to work from our Edinburgh office (hybrid) and travel to client offices around the world as required.
