Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021.

We have an exciting opportunity for clinical support workers vacancies on Ward 29 Medical Short Stay Ward. We are currently looking for a permanent Clinical Support Worker who is enthusiastic and motivated to join the team of General Medical/Elderly Care Ward.
You must be caring, compassionate, reliable and have a genuine interest to work with elderly care group patients and across the medicine and long term team. A flexible approach to the hours of work is required; this includes long days (07:00-19:30) and night shifts (19:00-07:30) includes weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
1. Assisting patients with activities of daily living, in accordance with the care plan.
2. Therapeutically engaging with patients and their families.
3. Being part of the wider MDT and making a daily contribution to the care patients receive.
4. Assist in taking and recording patient's observations and report changes to patient's health status to trained nurse for action.
5. Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill.
