We are looking for an experienced and qualified VAT Consultant at Manager / Senior Manager / Associate Director level depending on level of experience to provide advisory support to our wide-ranging client base.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering expert VAT technical support to our local partners and clients. You’ll not only ensure compliance but also drive growth through business development, networking, and cultivating strong relationships with other professionals. This is a client-facing role with opportunities to advise a diverse range of sectors, offering scope for both strategic VAT planning and hands-on compliance work.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising UK and international clients on VAT and other indirect tax matters.
* Advising charities and other not for profit clients on VAT liability, VAT recovery, business / non-business and partial exemption.
* Advising on property transactions and providing ad hoc advisory support to clients.
* Carrying out VAT Due Diligence assignments for a wide range of high-value transactions.
* Undertaking health checks and VAT reviews.
* Managing and overseeing VAT compliance undertaken by the business, reviewing VAT returns due for submission on behalf of clients.
* Communicating key VAT developments internally and externally.
* Managing client relationships and expectations.
* Contributing to business development activities and becoming actively involved in the Tax team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Strong UK VAT technical knowledge.
* Experience of working within VAT gained from either practice or HMRC environment.
* Experience of managing a diverse portfolio of VAT clients across multiple sectors.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels.
* Staff management experience.
