We are recruiting for a Youth & Engagement Coordinator (maternity cover) £25,000 pro rata for 17.5 hours per week - 2.5 days.

We are now recruiting for a part time Youth & Engagement Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to work with us to deliver an ambitious programme and play a key role in shaping our work with young people and widening our engagement activities.
We are looking for someone who is very organised, enjoys planning projects, and can multi-task to deliver to tight project deadlines. Someone who is friendly, outgoing, and passionate about delivering creative projects to a wide range of young people would suit this post. Working on your own initiative will be required but you will also be supported and part of a small (busy!) team.

Job Title: Youth & Engagement Coordinator (Maternity Cover)
Reporting to: Creative Director & Upland CIC Board of Directors
Based at: Upland office, Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries, DG1 1JQ and working across Dumfries & Galloway (some remote working is possible and can be discussed)
Salary: £25,000 pro rata for 17.5 hours per week - 2.5 days. This is a maternity cover position, an initial 9 month contract will be offered (this will be extended to 12 months dependent on funding). There is also potential for this post to increase to 21 hours per week, which can be discussed further with potential candidates at interview.
Job Purpose - Overview:
1. Coordinate Upland’s youth programme – this is made up of workshops/ talks in schools, studio visits, and the Visual Art Studio (a portfolio building course led by artist Bea Last for young people under 30 years).
2. Coordinate Upland’s Emerge mentoring programme - a bursary and mentoring award to support early career artists and makers.
3. Coordinate the delivery of ROAM (Space) – a project for emerging artists.
4. Coordinate the final stages of Modern Makers 2025 – a craft programme for young people.
5. Assist the Creative Director with development of engagement programmes.
6. Reporting and evaluation of youth programmes.
7. To work as part of a small, dedicated team that supports each other.
8. To manage project budgets (as set by the Creative Director).
9. To maintain the company values.
