Job Description
The Engineering Authorised Person will be responsible for overseeing project works on-site, ensuring full compliance with ISS safety procedures and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
Acting as a technical SME, this role will work closely with Business-As-Usual (BAU) Engineering teams to minimise disruption, maintain seamless operations, and uphold the highest engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the Authorised Person, ensuring project works adhere to SSOW and Health & Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) regulations
* Manage daily interactions between the project team and BAU site teams, including Permit to Work and Optima Critical Process
* Partner with campus facilities teams to deliver a best-in-class workplace environment for our client
* Ensure strict compliance with onsite Quality Assurance procedures and maintain accurate documentation
* Deputise for the Project Integration Manager and CEM when required
* Attend site meetings and provide reports related to work progress and equipment status
* Participate in training, reviews, and assessments to maintain high standards and career progression
* Uphold and enforce the Governance outlined in the OPTIMA Critical Manual
* Ensure incident reporting and escalation align with ISS processes and timelines
* Manage and facilitate subcontractors while ensuring adherence to SSOW
* Provide BAU maintenance support when necessary to assist operational teams
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Fully qualified Electrician with experience in maintenance roles, preferably within a critical engineering or facilities environment
* Previous experience as an Authorised Person is preferred (training can be provided)
* Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Permit to Work, and Optima Critical Processes
* Ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient project execution
* Strong understanding of Quality Assurance, Health & Safety regulations (HASAWA), and risk management
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate teams and enforce compliance
* Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail and organisational skills
