JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CAD Technician / 3D Modeller with proficiency in NX 3D CAD and a strong understanding of Design for Manufacture / DFM, who has excellent time management and communication skills.
Working as the CAD Technician / 3D Modeller you will join the dynamic Development team and will produce accurate model and drawing data, ensuring that both internal and external supply chains can manufacture parts essential to the assembly of the company’s craft.
As the CAD Technician / 3D Modeller you will focus on creating designs that promote cost-effective and safe production, optimising the assembly of parts to benefit overall efficiency and craftsmanship.
DUTIES
* Create detailed designs of interior boat components in the context of the complete boat assembly.
* Convert 3D design concepts into detailed models and production drawings.
* Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to solve design challenges.
* Ensure designs are efficient, manufacturable, and meet company and design standards.
* Use of NX 3D CAD to produce working models and manufacturing drawings.
* Report progress and adhere to project schedules.
* Develop CAD release KPI support (Review and sign off of parts - supervised).
* Delivery of part information in accordance with the development schedule.
* Adhere to the schedule and NPD process specified by a development summary agreed by the Directors of development, as well as any number of R&D projects to meet current market / development requirements.
* Report to the Development CAD Manager and Lead CAD, working amongst a team of other CAD designers on new product development.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Proficiency in NX 3D CAD and experience with Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture.
* Self-motivated, with excellent time management and communication skills.
* Positive attitude, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure.
