Podiatrist Specialist in Diabetes or MSK

This role is community-based over a variety of multi-chair sites. You will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of the profession including: Wound care, MSK, and Surgery.
You will be supported by a dynamic team of fellow Podiatrists, apprentices, therapy assistant practitioners, and Podiatry assistants.
The service provides care Monday to Friday with no weekend or bank holiday working.
Essential to this role:
1. BSc level or equivalent in Podiatry
2. Have a driver's license and access to a car.
3. HCPC Registration
Main Duties of the Job
To work as part of the community and acute Podiatry teams providing professional, quality planned programmes of Podiatry care to patients using specialist skills.
As part of the Podiatry team and wider trust, contribute to service development, and adhere to the Podiatry Department and Trust's policies, strategies, and objectives. You will provide excellent podiatric treatment management plans and work with the teams across both sectors to ensure seamless care is delivered. You will have or be keen to develop a specialist interest in either MSK or Diabetes/wound care and will be keen to continue to develop and share these skills. You will be based at the Jarvis Centre in Guildford or Haslemere Community Hospital and will work in a variety of locations including home visits.

Job Responsibilities
1. To work as an integral member of the Podiatry team working to service local guidelines
2. To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual treatment plans, which are discussed and agreed with patients
3. To use specialist clinical skills to manage the more complex caseload.
4. To actively keep up to date with clinical and professional developments.
5. To provide treatment at a variety of sites, which includes community clinics, community & acute hospital, and domiciliary service.
6. To provide treatment to adults and children
7. To support other staff including students and podiatry assistants with their supervision and clinical development
8. To provide specialised assessment, formulate clinical diagnosis and treatment plan as an autonomous practitioner.
9. To take part in clinical outcome measurements and audit
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Certificate in local anaesthesia
* Postgraduate training/qualifications
Knowledge
* Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development
* Member of relevant professional body Health Professions Council Registration (HCPC).
* Experience and knowledge of specialist areas of diabetes and vascular problems or MSK, acquired through postgraduate development or equivalent experience.
