Job Description Job Title: Head of Finance Location: NW1, London Employment Type: Full-time Salary: £70K pa Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 WFH Head of Finance Role Overview: My client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Finance to lead their finance function and oversee key operational areas of their growing organization. Reporting directly to the CEO and MD, you will play a pivotal role in driving their financial performance and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and Implement Financial Strategy: Formulate and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. Provide Strategic Financial Advice: Act as a key advisor to the CEO and senior management team on financial matters, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making. Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, implementing robust risk management frameworks and controls. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Develop and deliver insightful financial reports and analysis, providing clear and actionable insights into business performance. Drive Financial Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and optimize resource allocation. Core Financial Operations: Oversee All Accounting Operations: Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against targets. Cash Flow Management: Optimize cash flow management, ensuring adequate liquidity and efficient use of working capital. Audit and Compliance: Manage the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and legislation. Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee all tax-related matters, including tax planning, compliance, and reporting. International Trade and Finance (if applicable): International Financial Transactions: Manage international financial transactions, including currency exchange, import/export financing, and trade finance. International Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and financial reporting requirements. Global Financial Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with international operations. Financial Management: Core Finance: Oversee daily financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns. Financial Planning & Analysis: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. Financial Controls: Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance. International Trade: Trade Finance: Leverage knowledge of international trade finance, currency exchange, import/export regulations, and trade finance to optimize cross-border transactions. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations to minimize risks. Desired Qualifications & Experience: Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial processes and systems, with proficiency in accounting software. Project Finance & Management: Experience in project finance and contract management. International Trade: Knowledge of international trade finance and import/export regulations. Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications: ACCA or CIMA qualification is preferred but not essential. Industry Experience: Experience in e-commerce or commerce, preferably within a design studio environment.
