We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Bristol - BTF Foundry site as a Production Leader. The successful Production Leader will lead, inspire, and coach a team within a defined manufacturing cell. Accountable for ensuring that customer commitments are met in full, measured against agreed HSE, quality, cost, delivery, people, and responsiveness standards.
What you will be doing:
* Lead the drive towards a performance and culture of Zero harm, ensuring teams are trained and compliant to safety standards.
* Accountable for ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with the required standard to ensure conformance to the engineering specification.
* Drive to zero defects, working with all functions to reduce risks and ensure compliance to all relevant company legislative and technical policies.
* Develop and manage agreed people budget (headcount, productivity, absenteeism) and cell cost centre budget.
* Deliver products and services to customer commitments on time, managing bottlenecks and constraints to achieve flow through the cell.
* Optimise cell capability and capacity by developing a flexible team.
* Ensure that all relevant Production System minimum standards are fully deployed and sustained.
* Inspire the manufacturing team to consistently deliver high levels of performance through facilitation, coaching, and lean leadership behaviours.
* Optimise the performance of manufacturing assets to maximise facility productivity.
* Understand the IT systems used to drive management and leadership activity.
Who we're looking for:
* Understanding of the applicable health and safety standards.
* Company-wide outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures, and ways of working.
* Understanding/knowledge of multiple disciplines demonstrating breadth of experience.
* Proven track record delivering improved operational performance.
* Experience deploying continuous improvement methodologies such as lean and six sigma.
* Management experience in an engineering industry is ideal, but not essential.
* Attended higher education and/or leadership development programmes.
