The role and responsibilities of a Senior HR Advisor: We are currently looking for experienced Senior HR Advisors to join our team of over 200 HR professionals. You will support and coach line managers within our clients businesses, helping them to resolve ER issues within their teams by providing pragmatic, commercial, legally-compliant HR advice and guidance. Your role will include: Providing HR advice and guidance online and by telephone to our clients line manager community across the full spectrum of ER issues, including dismissals, grievance/appeals and other complex scenarios. Escalating complex, risky or sensitive cases to appropriate colleagues, who may be in-house or sit within the clients business. Proactively and effectively managing ER cases, ensuring that key interventions such as suspensions are kept to a minimum and other case management events are progressed robustly without delay. Providing HR advice in line with client-specific service level agreements and business rules. This will include reviewing and tailoring supporting case documents where appropriate. Capturing and tracking all advice provided on the in-house case management system. Acting as a mentor or escalation point for HR Advisors and HR Assistants, providing supportive guidance on complex cases or taking over cases once they escalate beyond their role scope. Coaching in-house colleagues and supporting managers in our client businesses through the management of people issues, including commercially sensitive situations and how to handle the more difficult conversations. Providing occasional on-site support to our client businesses and attending meetings and supporting line manager briefing events in a manner that is ambassadorial to our company. Supporting occasional and ad hoc projects, be they in-house or to support HR transformation within our client businesses. Skills and experience required to be a successful Senior HR Advisor: Degree qualification in HR or a business-related subject, or CIPD Level 5 qualified, or Management or legal qualification HR experience within an advisory role having had significant exposure to complex ER issues. In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, solid experience in the application of company policies and procedures. A proven track record of managing complex and sensitive ER cases demonstrating appropriate risk management. Confident operating within a client-focussed environment, where the way in which you provide great advice is as important as the advice itself. Heavily attuned to current ER thinking and best practice. A commercial and pragmatic approach to providing HR solutions to difficult issues that arise within challenging situations, within statutory requirements. Confident to communicate with managers and business owners at all levels, with a style that is clear, engaging, coaching and collaborative. A committed team player who is driven to continuously improve and to encourage and support colleagues and the business to surpass expectations.
