Job Title: Administrator
Duration: 3 - 6 months temporary contract
Location: Uxbridge - this role will be 100% campus based
Pay: £15.48
To be the focal point for the Department's staff and provide a wide-ranging high-level administrative support to the Head of Administrative Operations as well as Academic and Research Staff and PhD Students.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Department Administration
Support the Head of Administrative Operations in developing and promoting the research theme portfolio and in building the research culture and ethos.
Act as the department focal point for all academic staff for departmental and general information.
Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Administrative Operations and ensure that they are briefed on important communications and correspondence at all times, particularly when away from the office.
Provide ongoing advice to BCAST staff with regards to all aspects BCAST administrative operations, and where necessary train staff in the correct departmental procedures.
Support the Head of Administrative Operations in the preparation and provision of reports, minutes and information, in a timely fashion.
Provide support to BCAST Committees as required, taking accurate minutes and distributing them in a timely manner.
Ensure and provide a comprehensive administrative support to the Head of Administrative Operations and the academic staff including booking venues, accommodation, equipment and hospitality, etc. within the University and, where appropriate, externally.
Maintain an overview of the administrative functions and ensure there is adequate support.
Monitor research grant and project documentation, working closely with the BCAST Manager.
Attend/participate in BCAST meetings as required.Experience
Experience of working in a supervisory administrative role
Experience of Higher Education administration
General financial management experience
Extensive senior level administrative experience
Experience of managing research grants and budgets, and setting financial targets
Proven success in completing tasks to tight deadlines and working without supervision
Experience in using various social media platforms
