The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK�s largest producer of official statistics, covering a range of key economic, social and demographic topics.� These include measuring changes in the value of the UK economy, estimating the size, geographic distribution and characteristics of the population, and providing indicators of price inflation, employment, earnings, crime and migration.
Economic Statistics Group (ESG) produces a wide range of research, data and analysis to support decision makers and help people understand the UK economy. ESG produces essential economic statistics, such as gross domestic product, inflation, public sector finances, and labour market statistics.
Development, Delivery & Support Division is at the heart of developing and delivering methods, sources and systems for the different sectors of the economy across Economic Statistics (ESG).
The Support Maintenance & Change (A) team provides support to teams throughout ESG. They work collaboratively across the organisation with stakeholders and user communities to implement change and support the production of economic statistics.
The team is responsible for change release management via Change Packages, and systems configuration management on the Central ONS Repository for Data (CORD) used in the production of Economic Statistics.

Job description
SMAC A has three main areas of responsibility:
1. Manage the planning and delivery for change release in systems used in compiling National Accounts CORD
2. Providing Operational Support for CORD (used in the production of Economic Statistics)
3. Providing Operational Support for the Portal for Innovation and Strategic Change in Economic Statistics (PISCES)
Although the teams within SMAC A have specific key areas of responsibility, they work flexibly to deliver work across the branch.
Responsibilities:
4. Contribute to the planning and management of change package deliveries, including systems integration testing.
5. Work in partnership with colleagues in National Accounts Coordination Division for the annual update to National Accounts (ANA).
6. Assist on configuration management for CORD, providing advice to users and promoting best practice.
7. Assist in the management of housekeeping (including data management) to support security protocols, and system performance.
8. Provide administrative support to the team, for example, shared inboxes and calendar management.
9. Provide operational support for PISCES, including user set up and training.
10. Management of defects raised on PISCES, including appropriate authorisation.
11. Ensure branch level documentation is kept up to date and records management guidance is applied.

12. Ability to successfully establish and maintain effective relationships
13. Good written and verbal communication

15. Experience of implementing system changes
16. Taking decisions in areas of responsibility to keep deliverables on track, escalating as appropriate
17. Experience in SharePoint and Microsoft Office systems
18. Experience in CORD � desirable (training will be provided)
