Your Role: As an Asset Geophysicist, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our exploration and development strategies. You'll be an integral part of the subsurface team, working closely with experts from various disciplines to interpret geophysical data, conduct seismic interpretation, build models, and estimate volumetrics. From providing input into well programs to advising on resource maturation plans, your expertise will guide decision-making and help us optimize field operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Take ownership of seismic interpretation across fields and license areas, ensuring geophysical uncertainties are identified and effectively communicated.
2. Work hand-in-hand with the drilling team, providing valuable input to drilling programs.
3. Represent Prax at Technical Committee meetings and engage with external stakeholders, including the North Sea Transition Authority.
4. Contribute to resource maturation plans, exploration efforts, and new business evaluations.
5. Manage activities within approved subsurface budgets and oversee external contractors for specialized studies.
6. Mentor and supervise junior technical staff, helping them grow in their careers.
7. Champion EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Interpret geophysical data across multiple scales, from regional data down to the field level.
Qualifications:
1. A degree and post-graduate qualification in Geoscience.
2. Proven experience working on development assets, with a solid contribution to well programs and development planning.
3. In-depth technical knowledge of deepwater turbidite plays and structural and stratigraphic trap settings.
4. Expertise in seismic techniques, including well ties, depth conversion, amplitude analysis, and DHI modelling.
5. Proficiency in 3D Seismic Elastic Inversion and structural restoration.
6. Strong experience using tools like Petrel and performing volumetric calculations (both deterministic and probabilistic).
7. Knowledge of UKCS operations and regulatory requirements.
8. Excellent communication skills to convey technical insights clearly to both specialists and non-specialists.
9. A high level of motivation, with excellent analytical and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
