Morrison Water Services Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to work on our Scottish Water Regional Contractor Services (RCS) Framework working across a wide portfolio of projects. The role can be based in any of our regional offices, (Cumbernauld, Edinburgh, Inverness) reporting to the RCS Delivery Manager and will involve travel to sites as required.
The MEICA Scotland business unit currently delivers a number of frameworks for Scottish Water including the Infrastructure Capital programme and the MEICA replacement operational alliance DV2 Lot 4/RCS. In addition, IDS, a Water Division business, deliver further specialist frameworks for Scottish Water as well for a portfolio of non-regulated clients. The business is currently at c. £40m p.a with further growth planned. Design is also undertaken for English Water Frameworks through the wider MWS business.
The Project Manager will be responsible for safe delivery of their Projects whilst achieving commercial expectations. A key part of the role will be establishing a strong relationship with Scottish Water, both at Project level and within the Framework.
The Project Manager will be responsible for manging the allocated team through the programme of their projects.
They will be a key part of the MWS Management Teams and will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of Framework and support on key issues as they evolve.
This new position is a Scottish based role.
As the Project Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects focussing primarily on water & wastewater M&E capital maintenance and growth projects.
2. Accountable for project outputs in the delivery phase and managing the team.
3. Accountable for the finances of the project
4. Attend and contribute to internal and external reviews and progress meetings.
5. Participate in collaboration meetings with engineering team, other commodity disciplines and professionals.
6. Review of contracts & specifications
7. Procurement and support for subcontract procurement based on detailed specifications.
8. Record and review all project information.
9. Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.
Skills & Knowledge requirements:
10. Experience in water industry would be advantageous.
11. Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages
12. Knowledge and skills in the in the planning, specification, design procurement and commissioning of projects
13. A good financial background in relation to projects
14. A good Knowledge of NEC4 contracts
15. Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures
16. Able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently.
17. Experienced level of decision making and ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands
18. Strong communication skills all levels with the client, suppliers, contractors, and design team
19. Excellent written and oral communications skills
20. Exceptional organisational skills
21. Must be able to plan and prioritise workload effectively
