Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity for a LED ST3+ doctor in adult cardiology. This post will be based at East Sussex. Applicants should have some cardiac experience and preferably MRCP exam and be on the General Medical Council’s Register
The post holder will be expected to undertake acute cardiac outpatient work and will have inpatient duties. The appointee will have a special interest in Cardiology and General Medicine. The post will be based at Eastbourne General Hospital and may be expected to undertake duties on both sites (Conquest Hospital). The successful candidate will gain exposure and experience in all aspects of clinical cardiology. Training in echocardiography and some procedures will be provided according to the experience of the successful candidate and needs of other trainees.
· This post is aimed at supporting the existing team at the Eastbourne. The Catheter Laboratory provides primary angioplasty, angiography & cardiac pacing, including complex devices (Bi-Ventricular pacemakers and ICDs) electrophysiology and ablation.
· This post has been developed to support the ward based system, outpatient clinics, Heart failure ward rounds and the management of the elective and emergency patient pathway
· The post holder is encouraged to participate in the training and education of medical students, junior medical staff, and non-medical staff.
· A contribution to the cardiology middle grade on call rota is expected.
