A specialist manufacturing business that supplies sustainable packaging to the Food and Drink market is looking to hire a Quality Manager. This role is responsible for coordinating innovation projects generated both internally and with key global branded customers. It will also oversee technical line trials on new primary and secondary packaging materials, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes and machinery. The role includes international travel to various manufacturing sites, working with some of the biggest food and drink companies worldwide.
* Develop and improve quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., BRC, GMP).
* Conduct regular audits and inspections of laboratory and manufacturing processes, equipment, and documentation to identify areas for improvement.
* Establish and define statistical analysis methods, monitor quality control data to identify trends and deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance activities, including audit reports, corrective action plans, and training records.
* Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances promptly.
* Manage new product development, QA trials, sample testing, and approvals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality role, preferably in a regulated industry such as food service or packaging.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to laboratory operations, including UKAS and ISO 17025, is beneficial but not essential.
* Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
* Ability to write technical customer reports based on data analysis of quality measures.
